Lohiri Celebration

The sound of dhol is in the air, so dance to beats and share and care, May the rythms keep you always happy. Happy Lohri

Lohri- the festival which offers a panorama of our culture was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm in Jaipuria School of Business Ghaziabd. The feeling of trance was bought by melodious vocals “Sunder Munderiye” and vivacious “Folk Dance” by the
students.

The hallmark of the festival, lighting of the Bon-fire Lighting of the fire has been common in winter festivals throughout time and to the world it signifies the return of longer days. So, the celebration started by lighting bonfire and ‘Lohri Poojan’ by Dr Rajiv R Thakur, Director General of the institute. Dean Academics Dr Tapan Kumar Nayak along with the faculty and staff were very happy witnessing the spurring moments. They greeted the students and faculty present on the eve of the festival and stressed on the value of the culture. Everyone worshipped ‘Dhooni’ and groundnuts and sweets were also distributed among the students. After Poojan, everyone danced
and sang around the bonfire. Lohri is the harvest festival of Punjab popularly known as the bread basket state of India. Lohri is celebrated with equal enthusiasm by everyone irrespective of state or religion people belong to. Peanuts, Rewari, Popcorns etc. were distributed among the students.
