Convocation 2022
The 12 th annual convocation of JSB on 24 th September,2022 was a splendid ceremony and a curtain raiser to the new mission at JSB. As an example of detailed and comprehensive planning and well-coordinated execution, the convocation would be the envy of successful companies. It showed the commitment to excellence and the willingness to raise the bar. Though the Convocation is an annual activity, this year it was different from other years.
The Convocation this year was much bigger than usual. The effort was to create the beauty and a grace that this solemn ceremony should command. It wanted to bring alive the traditional spirit of the convocation and did that memorably even as it combined the ceremony for two batches 2019-21 and 2020-22 that were disrupted by Covid. The Chief guest for the Convocation was Mr. Deepak Chhabra, Managing Director,Timex Group India Ltd. Other dignitaries were the Chairman SAJES Sri Shishir Jaipuria,Member Board of Governors Sri Vinod Malhotra, Director General JSB Dr, Rajiv R Thakur and Dean Academics JSB Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak. Sri Shishir Jaipuria Chairman SAJES welcomed the Chief Guest and the graduating students. In his address speech he said that India is developing very fast and so the opportunities are growing.
He emphasised that sustainability is the key issue and being environment-sensitive we should be conscious of climate change. He congratulated the students for successfully completing their 2 years’ diploma. The students and the audience were enthralled by the rousing speech given by Sri Vinod Malhotraji member Board of Governors. He addressed the audience and said that happiness is the key to grow personally and professionally. The leaders need to be empathetic and high in emotional quotient.
Mr. Deepak Chhabra, Managing Director, Timex Group India Ltd. addressed the gathering and emphasized that convocation is a mark of the new beginning of their life in VUCA world that will demand capabilities, knowledge and unique strengths with creative energy. He also focused on giving the best in every situation, unleashing potential, and walking proudly. Dr.Rajiv Thakur, Director General of the Jaipuria School of Business who is carefully nurturing the school into a centre of leadership said “We are growing rapidly as an integrated business school and we are challenging ourselves to put back the bar and consistently raise it higher. We have streamlined the systems and are putting in place new robust procedures that are required for the emerging reality. The convocation signifies the new energy and commitment at JSB.”
